I’m trying to find a way to tell a story that doesn’t get blown out of proportion. It’s not that I’m oblivious to the truth. But I need an outlet to express the frustration and anger I feel to the world. I can’t, for example, talk about how I can’t sleep at night due to the noise from the kids waking me up at 5:00 am.
I’m not sure if this is just personal preference or just the fact that I have a little too much time on my hands. I’m just not that fond of talking about how I’m really just tired and cranky.
I think part of the problem is that there are so many personal issues that people tend to not address, and so they end up getting lumped together in the same comment. You know, “She really just wanted her mom to be happy.
That’s a terrible comment. You know what one of my favorite things to do when I’m not on a computer is go online and read what everyone has been saying. The vast majority of bloggers and news sources don’t even bother to say “The author is an idiot. He’s a bigoted asshat.” They just say “He’s a dick.
In this case the commenter was a guy named J.C. at a gaming forum named Gaming Nexus. Well, that just made J.C. a dick too. He apparently said, “There is no such thing as a game where your character is an idiot.” J.C. seems like a really nice guy, but he seems to have taken an instant dislike to the gaming community, which is really sad.
That’s not to say that gaming forums are universally a safe place to hang out. There are lots of assholes out there and some of them are just trying to get a rise out of people who aren’t as cool as they believe themselves to be. But it’s also pretty much impossible to be a badass gaming blog without being a dick.
Actually, I think it would be good if J.C. never hung out in gaming forums in the first place. It would be better for all parties if he stuck his head in the sand, and never came back. I mean, he is a nice guy. But he is also a total asshole.
The fact that you have to be a dick to be a badass gaming blog is just plain creepy. A lot of people are afraid that gaming blogs are going to start getting too “mainstream” and start preaching to the converted. I hope J.C. stays true to his philosophy and stays away from all those people who just want to dick him.
We aren’t exactly going to be on the Internet. We want to be able to talk about gaming, and gaming is a big part of its culture. We want to be able to play games on TV and have some fun without the fear of being in the real world. We want people to want to be able to play on Facebook and Twitter and like games on YouTube.
I think there is some confusion about what exactly will happen with this site. We are not going to have the same kind of “pop-up” style site that we have now, but we will be a very different site. We are going to be a more “web 2.0” oriented site. I think it’s important to note that we are not going to be a social network or a social-sharing site. We are going to be a game-oriented site.
