I was a little confused as to why you would be charging your Xbox 360 while you are using the PS3 as a media center in your car. My guess is that you are using a dock to charge the PS3, but when you are using the PS3 as a media center, you will most likely be using the dock to charge the PS3.
It’s easy to confuse a dock for a docking station (as in, a device that connects two pieces of hardware to each other) though I believe both are devices. I’m sure there are some devices that both dock and dock a piece of hardware to each other. Anyway, as you are using the PS3 as a media center, the PS4 will most likely be charging the PS3 in your car.
I recently read an interesting article about the PS3 charging dock and how it can be used for a variety of uses. I found it interesting because my PS3 has been getting a ton of media while I wait for the dock to charge my PS4. I’m not sure how the dock works or what else it can do, but it seems like a fun piece of gear to use.
Basically, the dock will allow your PS3 to charge at a high rate while allowing your PS4 to be used as a media center. There will be a small dock that your PS3 will be plugged into and that your PS4 will be plugged into, but the dock isn’t a “plug” in the normal sense. Instead, it’s a little piece of hardware that will plug into the PS3’s charging port and charge the PS3.
This should be very similar to the Xbox 360 dock, except instead of using the dock for charging, you can use it to play games. Sony may want to take this dock one step further by including a remote controller, so it seems like you could use your PS4 as a remote controller.
This is a fun little feature, but we think Sony is taking things a little too far with it. We really believe that you should be able to plug in a normal docking station, such as the Xbox 360 dock, and charge up your PS3. It’s not like you can’t plug it into your PS3 and use it for your PS3, but it should only be used for charging if you’re gaming.
The PS4 dock is a big step in the right direction, but at the same time it is a big step in the wrong direction. Sony should start by getting rid of the docking station, especially if you have a PS3 and you just want to use it for charging your PS3. We mean, come on. We have a PS3.
Actually, I think Sony may be doing us a favor by making it a more difficult option. First off, there are many ways to charge your PS3. You can plug it into a wall outlet, you can buy a car charger, you can use the dock to charge your phone, or you can use the dock as a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter. None of these methods are particularly convenient.
The dock can be used to charge your PS4, but I don’t know why Sony would make it a dock at all. There are a handful of dock options out there, and none of them are bad. For instance one option is to buy a dock adapter that plugs into your PS3 and uses the dock as a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter. But the adapter is a little pricey, and requires using the dock’s charging port (see above).
The dock also has a USB-C port, so you can use it to charge your PS4 wirelessly. I haven’t tried this, but I don’t think Sony’s dock actually has the 3.5mm jack for this.
