Your first day as a new homeowner is a big one. The excitement of opening your home and the excitement of your new surroundings is a big one too. While your first day is exciting, you may be wondering if it was the right time to paint.
Well, first off, it’s not the time of year to paint. It’s actually in the fall. Second, I wouldn’t do it because there’s really nothing you can do to fix a paint stain. I would do it because it’s the best way to create a seamless, warm finish to your house.
And finally, if you dont like a smooth, matte finish, then paint isnt for you. If you dont like a warm, subtle color, then paint your house. But dont do it for the sake of painting it. Think about the end result that you want to achieve.
One of the best things you can do to your house is hire a painter. The painter will bring a fresh coat of paint every month. For best results, hire a contractor who has experience in painting and working on new construction. Even if your contractor is the same contractor who did the siding and trim, you will benefit from your new paint job. But if you aren’t sure, go to a reputable painter that has proven to be very effective at painting new construction houses.
Also, if you are working with a painter you will need to have them paint all the interior surfaces in the room(s) you are painting. This will not only be more onerous, but also will help ensure that your paint job is of the highest quality possible.
Although it is possible to do your own siding and trim on your own house, you will need to do so for new construction. There are lots of different contractors out there, some of whom are more expensive. Also, if you are working with a painter, you will need to have them paint all the interior surfaces in the rooms you are painting. This will not only be more onerous, but also will help ensure that your paint job is of the highest quality possible.
The only thing I’d add is that the interior siding should be treated to a two-coat application. This ensures that the paint sets more quickly and is not allowed to deteriorate because of the moisture that comes from the walls. Also, the paint should not be left to set for long periods of time. It is best to do the paint as soon as you have it on the house.
I’m a total sucker for a good siding update, especially when the wall color is the same as the paint you’re already using. So that’s what I ask in return for your honest feedback.
There have been several recent reports of siding that has not been set correctly for two reasons. The first is that the paint has been left on for too long and will not set properly. The second is that the paint has been allowed to dry and set incorrectly leaving a mess of dry streaks. Our recommendation is to put a coat of paint on the house and then apply another coat on top of that, then wait until all of the dry streaks have set.
I’m not sure how long the dry streaks will take, but I’d expect them to last a while. The dry streaks will not affect the appearance of the house or the foundation. They are, however, the most noticeable part of the finished product.
