I’m not sure that I agree. This is so far outside of my knowledge base, and I’ve been trying to learn more about it for so long, that I really don’t know if it really exists, or if it’s just another tech hype machine that we all have a tendency to believe is real. (That’s just me, though.
Sure it does, and yes, there are plenty of dvds out there. But that doesnt mean your playing them on your PS5. Dvd players and players have a ton of different configurations to work with and they all play differently, and for a lot of people (including myself) the difference is huge.
Its hard to say what will work for you when you have an older computer and the games are not in the standard DVD player format. Its up to you to figure out which one works best for you and what you like, but the more you know about your system and your needs, the easier this will be.
Well, I do like the idea that you can play on your PS3 and DVD player at the same time. And, yes, I do see a lot of people playing DVD movies on their PS3s. Not to say it is not an option for everyone, but it is a different way of enjoying the same thing and the potential for problems is huge.
DVD movies are not a standard on any system. But they are a format that is becoming more prevalent in the home entertainment world. They are also very good for playing back on a video game console. Some DVD movies are also a part of the PS3’s standard. And, with the PS3, you can watch all your movies in high quality, including your DVD movies.
The problem is that while PS3s have the ability to play DVD movies, they cannot play a DVD movie that has a DRM protected copy of the disk. If you want to watch your DVD movies on your PS3, you must purchase a DVD player. You can watch movies on your PS3, but you cannot play them. It’s a little bit of a pain…
It isn’t so much that you can’t play a DVD movie, as it is that you can’t play a DVD movie with a DRM protected copy of the disk.
This brings up a good point that isn’t so much about the actual DVD-movie thing, but about the fact that DVD players don’t work with the PS3. Yes, we can buy a DVD player, but its an expensive (and rather pointless) purchase for most people. The good news is, however, that you can now buy a DVD player that will play DVD movies.
One of the first things we noticed when playing with the PS3 was that the PS3’s disc drive can now play DVDs. The problem is that the discs must first be decrypted by a program that can decrypt and decrypt discs. All the DVD players we’ve tried (most of the ones we’ve seen) have had the decryption program installed in the system, but most have not. Of course, this is not the only problem.
Decryption is always a concern with PS3 and DVD players. The last time we tried PS3s, they were locked up trying to play some encrypted DVD movies. I think the only way to play encrypted DVD movies with a PS3 is by loading them up as a game, but we don’t see this happening in the future.
