Yes it plays dvds, but I think its because I am a ps1 gamer for the most part.

The dvd burner is also a lot more versatile than the burner you get from Amazon.com and MediaFire. It can burn dvd’s from all the major video rental stores, as well as DVDs from other stores like Walmart, Target, and Kmart.

The problem with dvddvd-rdvd-rw-wdvd-dvcamdvd-dvcamdvdcamdvdcamdvdcamdvdcam is that it is only compatible with a dvd burner that can burn dvds. The website I linked to says you can also burn Blu-rays, but the website I bought mine from doesn’t list any Blu-ray disc burner.
