Now that the sun is shining, and the temperature is dropping, the best way to celebrate is to take my sweet time in the kitchen. My goal is to use all my ingredients, and make sure my cooking is in line with the season and my personal preferences. I often let the first few days go by and then take them as an important learning experience.

If you start in the kitchen, it’s a sign that you need to get a better cleaning attitude. In the pantry, its a sign that you need to get a better attention to detail.
The first thing to learn is that the kitchen is not the place to do “clean” things. The kitchen is a place to do “craft.” Whether the craft is cooking, baking, or cleaning, you need to get into the kitchen and get the food ready.

It is a pretty big step from learning to read to learning how to clean. But you don’t have to clean a house to learn how to cook. You dont need to know how to make good food to be a good cook. Good cookery comes without a recipe or a recipe book. You just need to learn the kitchen basics, like how to wash your hands and clean your dishes, and how to organize your work space.
