Herman Hulst is the author of The History of the World in 100 Objects, which is a great read. This article was just too much to keep up with it all at one time. I hope he writes a lot more.
As the title suggests, Herman Hulst is a writer/designer who specializes in the study of art history, and the history of the world in 100 objects. I think it is very cool how he describes his research and how much knowledge he has about this field.
This is part of what makes this article so great. The whole idea behind this article is that for every object in the history of the world, a designer has created a story and a history. For every object, there was a story and a designer behind it, and the history of the world can be viewed through the lens of art history. What the reader sees is a series of objects in a particular time period – the story of the objects, and the story of the designers behind it.
Herman Hulst had created the object the camera was pointing at, the clock. Herman Hulst had created the clock the camera was pointing at, the camera. And while the camera might not have been the designer of the object itself, we can tell that it was the designer of both the camera and the clock, and that it was the designer of the clock and the camera.
When you’re writing a story, you have to find out what the story’s about, and this is the case in Hulst’s story as well. The camera and clock in Deathloop are both about the same time period, and that’s where the connection comes in. The fact that the camera was the designer of the clock is also another clue that we’re in a time loop.
This brings us to Hulsts other design features: He’s an amnesia-stricken security guard who seems to have been forced to live on Deathloop’s island by some mysterious guy. He seems to have only a vague idea of how the island’s time loop works, but the fact that he doesn’t seem to know how to break out of it is another clue that something is wrong in the game.
This is probably the most important clue, but its subtle. Hulsts character is actually the player character, so we can assume that he isnt in a time loop. That means hes in a sort of “time warp” where everything he sees is different, but he can remember specific things from past moments.
Hulst is one of our best characters, and he’s not in a time loop. His story isn’t about time loops or being stuck on an island forever. This is a really good clue that something is wrong with the way time loops work and that he might be in one as well.
the other clue that something is wrong is that he has a small circle of friends. Most of our characters have dozens of friends, so an amnesiac is unlikely to have thousands of friends. It’s possible that time loops and a small circle of friends are just coincidence, but more likely, it’s a possible hint that someone in the game is actually in a time loop. That’s why a lot of the trailers in the game are so dark.
We can only assume that this is connected to the fact that this is a post-apocalyptic game, but it’s not a bad thing. It might be hard for us to imagine that time loops exist in our real lives, but I doubt it would be an issue for us if it did.
