I don’t know about you, but my day doesn’t begin and end with a headline. I am a busy individual, and all of those headlines, even the ones I actually read, are only a small portion of the headlines that I encounter each day.
My friend and I decided to do a little bit of research on the top 30 headlines every day that I encounter. We were just searching for the headline and most of the time, it was the only headline in the paper. We were looking for the headlines that were either funny or shocking, and while there are some funny headlines, there are often those that are so shocking, I have to read the article to be sure I didn’t see them.
One of the most shocking headlines I encountered this week was from the Chicago Tribune. The Tribune’s headline read, “A DIGITAL EXIT FOR A DIGITAL DEATH.” I think the headline was a bit more on the nose because it seemed like a joke, but it wasn’t a joke because it did what it said it would.
What I have to say about this is that I was really curious about the headlines, so I thought I’d check in with the news-journalist and see if I could understand any of the headlines. Unfortunately, I didn’t.
Instead, I got more of a joke. The headline read, A DIGITAL EXIT FOR A DIGITAL DEATH. It was obviously not a joke because the Tribune did what it said it would do.
The title is one of the main themes of the article, and it’s got some good links to various parts of the story, but I was curious whether the headline was a warning to the reader of what the story was about. The headline read, “A DIGITAL EXIT FOR A DIGITAL DEATH,” but I had no idea who the hell the reporter was.
It seems like a good article to warn new readers of the main story, but I was curious as to why anyone would do that if they were just trying to get clicks. I guess it could be a way to get people to read the article, but I think it’s better if it’s an article that shows the main story, and a person who doesn’t read the Tribune actually reads the article on the front page.
As I said, it was just a good article that wasn’t really a true story. The other day I caught my first real-life horror movie, when someone was giving a kid a birthday party. The kid didn’t want to give it, but then they thought they’d had some fun with it. The kid was shocked. He didn’t know I had to tell him the truth.
Illinoians have a fairly good sense of humor about everything, and the fact that the local paper is running the death of a child story is a good indication of that. It also tells us that the article isnt really a true story, as the child never knew the truth about the birthday party’s true purpose.
To say that Illinois is funny is probably an understatement. Illini has a fairly large population, so when they get themselves into a bad situation, the local newspaper is the first place they go. So it’s not exactly surprising that they would try to bring attention to the event.
