Games are in a category of their own. They are the same thing as games as any other type of entertainment. But in this case, they are considered an integral part of our society rather than something that is just for fun.
The word “japanese” is used to describe a wide variety of things in the world. We tend to think of games as being the same thing as these particular things. But the fact is, they have their own unique cultures, languages, and history.
There’s a lot of japanese games out there, some of them even being in English. But there are also games that are not japanese (at least as far as most of us are aware) but are in other languages. Many of our favorite video games are japanese-only games, and Japanese games have a special place in the hearts of many non-Japanese people.
The Japanese video game industry is very much a part of the global game industry. Japan has more than half of the gaming population in the world. Japan is also the home of many of the best and brightest game designers, programmers, and publishers. The best, most innovative games are made in Japan and the best games are created in Japan. With this in mind, it would be great to see more games made in Japan.
Japanese games are incredibly diverse, and are often created by people who are just starting out. There are some great games, like Persona 4, that didn’t make it to the Japanese release schedule, but were made by Japanese developers. This is especially true for Japanese RPGs.
In Japan RPGs are very much like movies, except that they are made in Japan. There are a number of companies that make the best Japanese RPGs, and they have a very high success rate. One company that has made a serious impact on the RPG industry is Capcom. Just last month they announced a new RPG called Resident Evil: The Mercenaries.
It sounds like Capcom may have some good reasons to be proud of their Resident Evil series, but I also wonder if they are also proud of their Japanese developers. Like many other companies in the world, there is a lot of Japanese talent in the Capcom team. I for one am very happy to see that.
But to be honest we have yet to see any Japanese developers making a major impact on the Japanese market. The reason is because most of these companies are run by Japanese execs who have an ego. They’re not going to be as passionate about their games as people in other countries. They are also more focused on the success of the entire company.
To be fair, Capcom did get one notable Japanese developer to develop some of their games, but their efforts were very limited. The reason is that most of their developers are Japanese. Some of those people are very passionate about their games. But the majority are too busy focusing on the company’s business interests to actually make a major impact on the Japanese gaming market. Which is unfortunate to say the least.
The Japanese market is still largely dominated by Enix, so that means every Japanese game has to be released in Japan in order to meet the high expectations that these people have for their games. This means that Japanese gamers are locked into the same system, and that they have essentially been conditioned to expect certain things about their gaming experience. If there is a big difference, it is that the Japanese gamers play all their games on the system that they have been conditioned to play on.
