I am a big fan of Jimmy Smits and his music. I have been going to his shows since I was 9 years old and I have always been intrigued by his music and his unique approach to his music. He is a true artist and I love his music. Jimmy Smits is going to be performing at the House of Blues in Atlanta on August 4th at 10:00 am.
So if you like Smits, you should definitely pay it a visit.
Jimmy Smits’ upcoming show will be his first at the House of Blues since his untimely death in 2010. He only performed at this year’s House of Blues in 2011, and the next year (2012) they made an appearance at the House of Blues in Houston. I am hoping that they will be back to perform again in 2013.
As a fan of Jimmy Smits, I’m hoping that it will be another performance of his last show that they did in 2012. I don’t know if they will be able to make it to Atlanta again though as the schedule is very tight, but I’m definitely going to be there to see him.
Since Jimmy Smits is one of the most famous blues singers to ever die, I expect the Blues to do some pretty heavy touring schedules in the coming years.
In my opinion, the only reason they won’t be performing a big tour is because of the death of Jimmy Smits. In 2006, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The doctors said it was too late to give him a new liver, so he was given one of his own to drink from. When we first saw him in 2006, he was in horrible shape. His liver was too damaged and he had to have his blood tested to determine how badly he was doing.
Jimmy’s death has been a sad loss for Blues fans. But I guess it’s a good thing he’s finally going to be able to enjoy some peace and quiet. Jimmy was the first guitarist I ever met, so I will really miss seeing him.
Jimmy was a huge blues fan and I’m sorry he’s gone. But, if you haven’t caught his shows and records, you really have no idea what he was all about. I think I was the first person to actually meet him, but of course I’m still in touch with him, so I’m sure he’ll still be around.
I don’t know how I feel about this, but I feel good about having him back. It’s like he saved my life. I had some bad hangovers last night and I didn’t want to risk going out without my trusty guitar/bass. This morning though I had a good time with the guitar and bass and it felt good to come back to life again. I have to say I’m pretty surprised by the fact that he’s not in the studio with me.
It’s not that complicated. I have to see if Im going to run into a guy like that. I will try to do some personal research.
