In the past few years, there have been a number of reports concerning a disturbing trend in the American media towards sensationalism and self-absorption. For those of us who write here, we are aware of the very real threats posed to journalism by individuals or groups that are willing to use it as a means to promote their own agenda.

The current trend of sensationalism in the media is something that is so obvious that it doesn’t require much explanation. Take for example the recent article which appeared in the Washington Post entitled “A Fox News Channel Host’s First TV Appearance Since Being Fired for Calling People White Trash.” The article was written by Washington Post reporter Michael Kranish who decided to jump the gun by using the words “white trash” and “caucasian” in the article.

The problem with saying something that has previously been said is that you’re now saying things that you wouldn’t want to say in the first place. For example, on that same day, the Washington Post published an article titled “Fox News’ ‘White Trash’ Host Dies,” which was written by Washington Post reporter David Fahrenthold. In the article Fahrenthold admits that he hasnt been watching Fox News in years.

In order to not embarrass myself, I decided I would use the word “white trash” in the article to refer to Fahrenthold. But my use of that word in the article was not to refer to Fahrenthold.

That is the kind of thing that can be a serious mistake when we’re talking about serious journalism. And this is especially so when we are talking about a newspaper that has a reputation for being a bastion of liberal bias. That being said, Fahrenthold’s article is a fine example of the kind of news that we often have to deal with that gets published in the newspaper.

Fahrenthold was sentenced to a year in the slammer for child pornography. But he’s not exactly a model inmate. If you read the article, you can see how he managed to get himself into this mess. He began using the name “Fahrenthold” in a number of online forums and began posing as a child actor with the intention of getting some of the men he had offended to make it look like he was in on the joke.

This is a bit of a rant, but it does tell us something about how to get ahead so we don’t get caught up in a major story.

As you probably already know, a lot of our work is done in the dark. In general, our investigative work is done in the dark, which is why our research is done in the dark.
