In the past few weeks, I have seen a lot of posts on our blog talking about the benefits of meditation. Most people think that sitting in a quiet room with your eyes closed for about an hour a day, you will get results. A lot of people think meditation is about just sitting cross-legged and staring into space, but that isn’t what meditation is. Its about being in a room with your eyes closed, and focusing on nothing except your breath.

Meditation is about being in a room with your eyes closed, and focusing on nothing except your breath. It’s about letting your mind wander, and letting the body relax. It’s about letting your mind drift and not thinking about the world at all. When you sit in a room with your eyes closed, you are focusing on the breath and breathing is like tuning into a radio station. When you tune into the radio, you don’t think about the world at all. You just tune into it.

Meditation is not about doing nothing, it’s about doing something. Your mind becomes aware of its movements. It becomes aware of its thoughts. It becomes aware of its sensations. These movements, thoughts, sensations, and mind states are all part of meditation. You can get a lot more out of meditation by practicing it each day. Even if you think you are out of it, you will find that your mind is still there, just not in that place where you feel the most content.

Meditation is the practice, not the end. Practice makes perfect, but you must practice every day. It’s not about being perfect, it’s about becoming perfect.
