I had to look up the term Discord, which has a ton of different meanings to me, and here it is: “a company that operates on a decentralized, distributed network of connected devices.” I’ve heard Discord referred to as “the new Mumble,” “the internet of things,” “the future,” and “the new social networking.
I think it’s because I’m a fan of the idea of using the internet and the internet of things to create connections between people, but I also think it’s because the internet of things is still in its infancy, and Discord, as a company, is still trying to figure out how to make it a success.
Because its still a very young company with very little competition, they are still figuring out a way to make the internet of things work and not just a lot of different devices all plugged into one internet. It’s been a huge project, and they are still not seeing their first million users, so their first million users are probably not all they wanted. But there is a ton of positive press about their efforts, and I expect the world to be a really cool place soon.
I’m glad to see that the gaming press is finally giving ps5 a lot of attention. Especially since its a relatively new company, there is no shortage of gamers who are excited about their next console.
Its a little known fact that the PS5 is one of the first consoles to get the “discord integration.” Discord is a network of chat rooms with a chat engine that can talk to each other over the internet. Its an online-gaming platform that lets you join and create your own chat rooms, chat with friends, and use the forums.
I love the idea that a company can integrate its chat rooms with its games. It feels like the best of both worlds, and is something that could take a lot for developers to achieve. But I do have a slight problem with it. I don’t really think that it would ever be possible to integrate chat and gaming. There would be a lot of people who would want to chat with each other all day, and chat forums are already a key part of the gaming culture.
I think that there is a way. I think it is possible, and I think it would be very cool indeed. But I would have to see just how it would work and how the two would interact. I really don’t see it as an integration that could happen.
Discord already exists.
Yes, but it does not integrate chat and gaming into one. A lot of gamers and other people with things to chat about do not like the idea of the “web” being just another game channel. The more I read about it, the more I realize I need to go back to school and do some classes on internet technology. I’m a big fan of the Xbox Live Arcade. I love the fact that there are people who have an interest in a wide range of games.
Well, Discord is a chat client, not a gaming client. The gaming client has a list of games that it tracks, but then you can create rooms, or maybe you can find a game on there and play it. Discord is just a chat client. There is a little bit of room for it to integrate with games. I think it’s a little like the difference between an e-mail client and a messaging client.
