A few weeks ago, I saw a video on YouTube of Resident Evil’s character, Leon S. Kennedy, running around a map of the village with his avatars. In the video, the characters are dressed in all black and each one has a different theme.
The avatars are actually a variation of Leon’s real-life persona and were created in collaboration with the Resident Evil series. Leon is a man who knows that he is destined to die, so he creates a persona with these avatars so that he can live on.
That’s an interesting concept, but that doesn’t really explain what the avatars are. Leon creates these identities in advance, then uses them to live his life. So for example, he might use his avatar to impersonate his partner at the time he created him, then use the same persona to impersonate a friend he’s just met in town.
The idea is that you have a limited amount of time, so you only need to use your avatar for a very short period of time. You can use your avatars to live an interesting life, but they are a limited resource. The avatars then help you to pass these short time periods.
The most interesting part of the trailer is when the avatars talk about the visions they have. They talk about how they can tell if they’ve been murdered, if they were tortured, or if they even were killed. They also talk about the power of the Visionaries, how they are like a god of sorts to them, and how they have the ability to do whatever they want.
The ability to talk to people from other realities and create avatars that can travel between them is an interesting concept. The possibility of being able to live a full life in a world where the only connection to the real world is via avatars is a nice little twist on the typical “lifestyles of the rich” and “lifestyles of the poor.
There’s a lot of potential here. As a game developer, I’m always thinking about the idea of allowing people to live out their lives in another reality, so to speak. So imagine if you could create a game where the game world became a village of people who, while they don’t know it, are all connected somehow.
Well, that sounds a bit like an RPG. I mean, if it was really an RPG, then there would be a lot more people in the world, and we would be the only ones with a computer to interact with it. That wouldn’t be good.
Well, it’s not an RPG, but there are lots of other games that would be a lot more fun if they had people living in them. The best example of this is in the Resident Evil series. In that series, the world is a series of villages, connected by roads. It’s basically an open-world game. So if you could somehow make that open-world game, that would be a really good game.
In Resident Evil 6, the villagers are actually robots that have been programmed to live in the village and interact with the player. It would be a lot less boring if you could have actual people living in your game.
