There’s that “security breach” part again. It’s not that it’s an issue that should cause anyone to be concerned, but that it’s a concern that should be there.
I think I would just have to agree with him. Its pretty interesting that PS4 is actually getting security flaws noticed. But to me it just proves that they aren’t playing by the rules.
Of course, Sony has been on the receiving end of plenty of security holes, but the security flaws that have come out and been made public have been the ones that can’t be patched. The reason is that Sony has a lot of people on staff who are the ones who have to deal with these things on a daily basis.
I agree with him. The security flaws are probably the most common of the glitches that Sony has encountered; and considering how many people are actually affected by them, it makes sense. Still, it would have been nice if Sony had been more proactive about their security, and it wasn’t just the security holes that were discovered and made public.
Sony is taking some steps to fix the bugs Sony found in the PS4, but the steps Sony is taking involve patches to the games themselves. The patch for Resident Evil: Revelations, for example, is a small one, but it’s still a good one. More importantly, though, Sony has been running a public call-in program for anyone who believes their PS4 was hacked to tell Sony what they did. This is a good start towards fixing the security issues, but Sony needs more.
Sony’s security team was able to fix some of the bugs in their games, but they weren’t able to patch everything. So there’s a good chance that we may need to wait a little longer for everything to be patched. But even if Sony patch everything, the bugs are still there, so we have to hope that the security team is able to find them in the meantime.
The problem is still the lack of security. While Sony has addressed some of the bugs in their titles, the company still seems to be missing a few key security holes that could be exploited by hackers. For example, the Playstation Network is a major part of the game, so an attacker could easily be able to take over the network and control the PS4’s user account. Sony may be able to patch some of these security holes, but it’s still not an easy task.
The PSN security is a major part of the gameplay. In Deathloop you’re not an amnesiac, you’re an assassin that’s forced into a time loop. The only player in your team that knows what you’re going to do is your bodyguard, and he’s tied to a chair in the lounge of your friend’s house. In order to get to your goal, you’ll have to do some dodgy hacking in order to access the Playstation Network.
Its almost as if the PS4 is a way of life for players. It is a game console, and it is the only one that allows you to play online, and it also has to be used to do so. Now that the PS4 has a user account, Sony is going to need to make some changes to the Playstation Network to make sure the entire game is playable.
This is a great idea because it puts the PS4 out of harm’s way. It is a system, and it is a security system for the system. Sony will need to rethink how they will approach a security breach like this, because the entire point of the security system is to make sure it works for all users.
